What is break 'n boost

Studying in Antwerp is more than simply studying, of course. More than ever, it's also about caring for yourself and for others. When it comes to keeping things in balance: relaxing, working hard, getting enough exercise, finding your peace, eating healthily and much more besides, the revision and exam period is actually the most challenging part of the academic year.

The psychosocial services of your educational institution and STAN agree the start of the study period is the perfect time to bring together all students. Time to check up on yourself, find your way to receiving help if you need support and to give you the energy boost to start studying.

Hours

Tuesday 5 May 2026 - 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Location

MAS | Museum aan de Stroom
Hanzestedenplaats 1, 2000 Antwerpen

How to get to MAS

Relaxation & connecting through the academic year

Throughout the academic year, you are welcome at CABIN in GATE15; a warm place where you get the mental and physical space to be yourself, meet, discover and develop talents with an inspiring workshop offer, but also find support when you’re feeling (briefly) not ok.

Urgently need to talk?

The psychosocial support service at your college or university – student psychologists and study counselors are here for you. You can find the contact persons for your institution here.

FAQ

Who can join in?

Yes, all students at universities and university colleges in Antwerp are welcome at break 'n boost. Tickets are free of charge. Claim yours in advance!

Do I need to sign up beforehand?

No, signing up in advance is not compulsory, but it's still a good idea. You can also sign up on the day of the event itself. Do remember though that some workshops and activities only have a limited number of places available. Full means full & fully subscribed means fully subscribed, so signing up in advance is definitely recommended. That way, you'll be certain you have a place and you can also claim your free poké bowl.

Can I cancel?

Yes, if you've signed up for a workshop or activity and then find you can't come, you can take your name off the list. That will help us make spaces available for other students. To do that, send an email to hello@breaknboost.be.

Will I get a mail to confirm my sign up?

Yes, after signing up, you'll receive a confirmation email with full details of your registration, including the workshops or activities you've signed up for.

Do I need to bring anything to the event?

You must bring your student card with you for identification purposes. For some activities, such as salsa and yoga, it may be a good idea to wear comfortable clothes. Other than that, you don't need to bring anything special with you. We will provide everything you need.

Is the event fully free?

Yes, all activities and workshops at break 'n boost are completely free of charge for students. This has been made possible thanks to the collaboration between Antwerp's universities and university colleges, STAN and the City of Antwerp. And we must also give a shout-out to the MAS!

What if I arrive late for a workshop?

All we ask is that you report for the workshop 10 minutes before it begins. If you arrive late, your place may be given to another student. So being on time is definitely recommended!

Will there be food and drinks at break ’n boost?

Yes, poké bowls will be available free of charge for those who sign up quickly (the first 200 who sign up). Be sure to bring your own water bottle so you can top it up at our water taps.
